Dell Cast Adapter hits the FCC

Dell Cast Adapter hits the FCC

Welcome to a Biomedical Battery specialist of the Dell Ac Adapter

Dell may be planning to launch a wireless display adapter called the Dell Cast Adapter. It showed up at the FCC this week, and while details are scarce, the label drawing makes it look like the adapter is a stick that you plug into the HDMI port of a TV or monitor.

You’ll probably be able to use the adapter to stream content from a tablet, notebook, or other device to your TV.

But it may also be a device that lets run apps on a TV, turning a standard display into a sort of Smart TV.

Update: The Dell Cast is now available for $80. It’s basically a Google Chromecast-like device for streaming content from a Dell tablet to a TV… but it also supports Bluetooth keyboard and mouse input and lets you run office and other productivity apps on a TV.

According to a recent WiFi certification document, the Dell Cast Adapter wth such as Dell Latitude D600 AC Adapter, Dell Latitude XT AC Adapter, Dell Inspiron 6000 AC Adapter, Dell Inspiron 1501 AC Adapter, Dell inspiron E1505 AC Adapter, Dell inspiron 6400 AC Adapter, Dell studio 17 AC Adapter, Dell Latitude X300 AC Adapter, Dell Latitude LS AC Adapter, Dell Latitude X1 AC Adapter, Dell Inspiron 2000 AC Adapter, Dell Inspiron 1526 AC Adapter supports dual-band WiFi and runs Google Android 4.4 KitKat. The FCC listing also mentions support for Bluetooth.

While it’s tempting to think the Dell Cast Adapter will be Dell’s answer to the Google Chromecast, it’s more likely that this could be a consumer-friendly version of the Dell Wyse Cloud Connect, a $129 enterprise-friendly stick that you can connect to a display to run Android apps or login to a remote computer so you can kind of turn any screen into a Windows PC.

Or maybe it’s something else. The FCC and WiFi documents don’t really give a lot away.

The Dell Cast Adapter appears to be manufactured by Audix, a company based in Shenzhen, China.

Dell packs Core M chip in Latitude 13 7000 tablet/laptop

Dell packs Core M chip in Latitude 13 7000 tablet/laptop
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
Dell is packing new technologies like Intel's Core M chip in its Latitude 13 7000 tablet/laptop hybrid, which the company believes is a better laptop replacement than other products like Microsoft's Surface Pro 3.
The Latitude 13 7000 is a 13.3-inch tablet, but when attached to a keyboard dock it transforms into a laptop that is more battery friendly than regular laptops, according to Dell.
The dual laptop-tablet functionality is made possible by Intel's Core M chip, which is a new low-power PC chip adapted for tablets. The chip is Intel's first based on the Broadwell architecture, and is made using the 14-nanometer process, which brings speed, performance and power improvements over prior tablet chips.
The Latitude 13 will also lay the foundation for wire-free computing with wireless docking capabilities, which will be available for the product, according to a specification sheet. The wireless dock feature will be available for the model, though it isn't clear when the accessory would be released and if it would be optional.
The company did not talk about the features, but the dock could make possible the wireless streaming of images from tablets to external displays and wireless data transfers to storage devices.
For a true laptop experience, a good keyboard is a must, said Andrea Falkin, brand experience manager for Latitude and OptiPlex at Dell. The dock that ships with the device has a hard keyboard, a spare battery with such as dell Latitude D820 battery, dell Latitude D830 battery, dell Latitude D800 battery, dell Inspiron E1505 battery, dell Inspiron 1546 battery, dell Inspiron 1000 battery, dell Inspiron 2200 battery, dell INSPIRON 2650 battery, dell BAT3151L8 battery, dell RN873 battery, dell Inspiron 2000 battery, dell Inspiron 1520 batteryand productivity ports. That gives the Latitude an edge over Surface Pro 3, which has a soft keyboard that is also a cover.
"Unlike Surface Pro, you have this full productivity base," Falkin said. "The intention behind this was to deliver a no-compromise experience."
Soft keyboards are mostly not as ergonomic as hard keyboards, but are easier to travel with, said Roger Kay, principal analyst at Endpoint Technologies Associates. Dell's choice of a hard keyboard is apt for commercial customers, who want to run productivity applications, while Microsoft is focusing on convenience and content consumption with Surface Pro 3, for which the soft keyboard is good, Kay said.
Dell is also providing storage of up to 512GB, the same amount available in the Surface Pro 3. But Dell's tablet has a 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution, which isn't not as good as the Surface Pro 3's 2160 x 1440-pixel resolution.
Optional LTE broadband connectivity will be available with the Latitude 13. The Surface Pro 3 has no LTE connectivity yet.
Other features in the Latitude include up to 8GB of RAM, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, a 2-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
The Latitude 13 will be priced starting at $1,199 and will be available worldwide in October. Intel has said Core M products could reach the market at prices starting at US$699, but costs usually shoot up with more memory, faster processors and solid-state drive storage.
Lenovo and Asus are among the companies that have announced tablets and hybrids with the Core M processor. A handful of 13.3-inch tablets are already available in the market, such as Hewlett-Packard's Split X2 and Pavilion 13 X2, which have Intel's Haswell processors.

Dell Venue 8 7000 Hands-On: Brilliant Screen, 3D Camera

Dell Venue 8 7000 Hands-On: Brilliant Screen, 3D Camera
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
SAN FRANCISCO — Intel’s RealSense technology is finally going mainstream, with the release of the Dell Venue 8 7000, the first device to come with the depth-sensing, 3D camera built-in. We’ve seen gesture control, facial recognition and 3D scanning demos of Intel’s depth-sensing technology in add-on webcams and developer kits on Windows for a couple of years now, starting with its Creative Senz3D camera and moving on to this year’s RealSense camera. However, the Venue 8 7000 places the dual-lens camera on the back of an Android slate, opening up a whole new world of possibilities. We had a chance to spend a few moments with a Dell Venue 8 7000 and, though we did not get to use the camera during that time, we were very impressed with the tablet’s sleek design, eye-popping OLED screen and smooth performance.
The first thing we noticed on the Dell Venue 8 7000 with battery like dell Inspiron 1750N battery, dell Inspiron 14 battery, dell Inspiron 1750 battery, dell G5266 battery, dell Latitude C640 battery, dell 1691P battery, dell 75UYF battery, dell Latitude D610 battery, dell Inspiron 1100 battery, dell Inspiron 5100 battery, dell Latitude D600 battery, dell Latitude D620 batteryis its absolutely gorgeous, 8.4-inch display. A background wallpaper image of a mountain scene seemed to come alive on the 2560 x 1600, OLED panel with brilliant greens, blues and beiges. Dark areas or the picture were particularly rich, perhaps because OLED technology offers the most accurate shades of black. This just might be the best screen we’ve seen on any tablet, but we’d have to put the Venue 8 7000 next to the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, our previous favorite, to find out.
The Venue 8 7000 is one of the thinnest tablets on the market, with a thickness of just 6mm and it’s also one of the most attractive. The bottom and side bezels around the screen are incredibly thin, but the thick top panel makes room for a large, front-facing camera and provides the perfect place for gripping on the tablet. The back is a subtle gray color (we don’t yet know what material it’s made from) , which lends a unique and tasteful touch. Interestingly, the RealSense camera, which has two lenses, is just a thin stripe while another, 8-MP lens is there for taking regular still pictures and videos.
Though we didn’t get to try the RealSense camera personally, we were able to see some of its features in action during the IDF 2014 keynote, when Intel CEO Bryan Krzanich and Michael Dell teamed up to demonstrate the Venue 8 7000. Kraznich showed how a photo he took with the Venue 8 was divided by depth so he could selectively turn a section in the foreground black and white while trees in the background remained in color.
Dell showed a photo that he took of the Golden Gate bridge, with a fisherman standing in the foreground and then used the built-in editing software to change the focus and blur either the bridge or the man by tapping on the appropriate parts of the image. He then switched to a photo of a couch he had taken and demonstrated how the software could tell him the length of the couch, helping him determine whether or not it would fit in his room. An Intel rep later told us that he’d used the tablet to take a photo of himself and that it accurate determined his height.
In the past, we’ve seen RealSense cameras enable extremely accurate gesture control, allow users to 3D model their faces and put them onto avatars, and empower podcasters to remove their bodies from the background without a green screen. Unfortunately, most of these uses are unlikely with the Venue 8 7000 because the camera is back-facing. However, the front-facing RealSense webcams we’ve seen aren’t much good for taking photos of the world around you so it’s a trade-off.
In order to handle all this 3D photography (and play some games), the Dell Venue 8 7000 is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom “Moorefield” CPU, which promises long battery and strong performance. The tablet comes loaded with a fairly stock version of Android 4.4 KitKat, which performed smoothly in our brief time with the device. The company’s proprietary Dell Gallery app is what enables users to take advantage of the RealSense camera, editing photos with different depths or measuring objects.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 is due out in November, with pricing still not announced.
Amazon's Kindle Fire HDX 8.9-inch isn't just an easy way to get access to all of your favorite Amazon content. The slate also packs a gorgeous 2560 x 1600 resolution display, powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Amazon's slick new Mayday tech support feature. With the press of a button, users get 24/7 access to a real-life support representative, who can access their Kindle and show them how to use its various features. Oh, and did we mention it offers a whopping 13 hours and 42 minutes of battery life?

dell Inspiron 11 series 3000 review: This

dell Inspiron 11 series 3000 review: This
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
Dell's Inspiron 11 3000 series is a hybrid whose obvious competition is the extremely similar Lenovo Yoga 2 11. Both are touchscreen tablet/laptop hybrids whose two halves pivot 360 degrees to achieve multiple configurations. But while they closely resemble each other in many ways, the Inspiron 11 series 3000 outperforms and outlasts the Yoga 2 11, and it does so for a bit less money.
The Inspiron 11 3000’s specs are capable, but configured for the entry-level market. The Inspiron 11-3147 we tested retails for $450 with an 11.6-inch, 1366x768 resolution touch display; a Pentium N3530 CPU; 4GB of DDR3L/1600 memory; and a 500GB, 5400rpm Seagate Momentus Thin hard drive.
dell also sells an otherwise identical model with a slightly slower Celeron N2830 processor for $399. You'll find two other models on Dell's website, but the only differences are the bundling of an external Bluetooth speaker on one, and a longer service contract/warranty on the other.
No matter the price point, the real decision you need to make is whether the design is right for you. The 2-in-1 form factor fills both the laptop and tablet roles, and this one is big enough to house a larger battery with like dell Precision M70 battery, dell Precision M90 battery, dell Studio 17 battery, dell Studio 1745 battery, dell N855P battery, dell Studio 1749 battery, dell Vostro 1200 battery, dell RM628 battery, dell Vostro 1310 battery, dell Vostro 1510 battery, dell T116C battery, dell Vostro 1400 batterythat can drive faster components. The downside is that you’re saddled with the weight of the keyboard when you use it as a tablet.
That isn’t much of an issue when you’re lying on the sofa, but a detachable solution, such as Toshiba’s Satellite Click 2, would let you lose the keyboard at will. A dedicated laptop and an actual tablet would be a more expensive alternative, but one that removes the compromises.
Using a hard drive, versus an SSD, is part of the way Dell keeps the price of the Inspiron 11 3000 series low, but it also results in slower performance. I immediately checked how easy it would be to swap in an SSD, as well as replace the internal 43-watt-hour battery. The unit’s bottom panel comes off to reveal both, as well as the other slots, after the removal of nine screws.
You might think the three across the middle are captive. They’re not, so remove them before you pull the panel off or risk watching them fly across the room. There are also pressure-fit tabs, so a bit of energetic spudging (that’s a technical term for prying with a plastic tool or fingernail along the seams) is required to pop the panel off.
The Inspiron 11 3000 delivers a good mix of ports and connectivity: Three USB ports (although only one of them is USB 3.0), HDMI video output, a headset jack, and an SD card slot. Wi-Fi is 802.11 b/g/n, and there’s Bluetooth on board.
I found the Inspiron 11 series 3000 keyboard to be at least as good as the one on the Yoga 2 11 (which despite being a Lenovo, is no great shakes). There is an inordinate amount of flex in the Inspiron’s keyboard deck, however, including the area immediately surrounding the keys. It doesn’t affect typing or swiping on the touchpad, but it might give one pause about the overall build quality. Also, the touchpad's responsiveness varied: Clicking was fine, but it didn’t react well to my calloused fingertips at all times. The response of the touchscreen display, on the other hand, was smooth as silk.
The Inspiron 11 series 3000 edged out a similarly-configured Yoga 2 11 by a single point in our WorldBench 9 benchmark: 29 to 28. Subjectively, it feels agile enough once the Windows 8.1 operating system is up and running. Audio through the speakers is surprisingly loud and clear, and 1080p video renders smoothly.
Gaming-wise, the Inspiron 11-3147 might do okay with simple HTML types, but it won’t handle modern standalone titles. It managed only 11 frames per second in BioShock Infinite at 1024x768 using low image detail. But you don’t buy a convertible to game, and you probably don’t want the kids wasting time with such pursuits when they should be studying.
They will be able to hit the books for a while sans cable: Dell wrings 5 hours and 13 minutes of run time from the Inspiron 11-3147’s battery, 42 minutes longer than what we saw with the Yoga 2 11. That’s still an hour short of the run time turned in by the Toshiba Click 2, the aforementioned 2-in-1 powered by same processor.
Even though the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series is a better deal overall, the Lenovo Yoga 2 11’s somewhat sleeker design will likely win its share of buys. I always recommend kicking the tires in person before deciding which you want to own. If you want something faster or with greater screen resolution, shop the Pro variant of the Yoga 2, with its Core processors.

Five best laptops to suit any budget

Five best laptops to suit any budget
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
Picking a new laptop is difficult. There are so many across a whole range of prices that it’s difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Depending on what you want to do with a laptop, you can end up overpaying, or conversely buying something that can’t do what you want. Here’s our guide to five decent ones to suit all budgets and needs.
Dell’s Chromebook 11 handles and feels much more like a laptop twice its sub-£200 cost. Photograph: Dell
Chromebooks are cost-effective, simple laptops for web browsing. They are essentially a computer with just a browser. If all you need is to browse the web and do some simple word processing then a Chromebook is ideal, but it will not run applications like iTunes or Word, instead relying on Microsoft Office-compatible Google Docs and other web apps.
The Dell Chromebook 11 is the best Chromebook available, with a solid build quality, excellent full-size keyboard and trackpad. The 11.6in display is clear and easy to read, while its small size and 1.3kg weight makes the laptop portable and light. A webcam and microphone are mounted above the screen.
Performance is snappy with instant boot-up and it can easily handle dozens of open tabs in Chrome.
It has an all-day battery with such as dell 5208U battery, dell Inspiron 3700 battery, dell G5345 battery, dell Inspiron 1300 battery, dell Inspiron B120 battery, dell KD186 battery, dell Inspiron 5150 battery, dell Precision M20 battery, dell Precision M4300 battery, dell Latitude D531 battery, dell Precision M65 battery, dell Precision M60 batterylife, while an HDMI output means connecting the laptop to a TV is simple. An SD card reader makes viewing photos from a camera easy, while Google bundles 100GB of Google Drive storage in the cloud for two years with each Chromebook purchase to augment the 10GB internal storage space.
Windows PCs provide more flexibility than Chromebooks because they can run standard Windows programs, including Microsoft Office. There are hundreds of PC laptops available in different sizes.
At the bottom end is the Asus X200MA. It has an 11.6in screen, weighs 1.2kg and has a full size keyboard and trackpad. It runs Windows 8.1 with access to both the Windows Store and the thousands of standard Windows apps.
The X200 is quite slow, but it will manage simple web browsing and office duties. The included VGA and HDMI ports make connecting it to a TV or monitor easy, while an ethernet port provides internet access where Wi-Fi isn’t available. A webcam and microphone mean video chats via Skype are easy.
With a 500GB hard drive and an SD card reader, viewing and storing photos is simple, while around five hours of useful battery life should see the computer through at least half a day’s usage.
Small screens are great for portability, but can be cramped for getting work done. The Aspire E1-572 has a 15in screen, runs Windows 8.1 and is ideal for an all-round budget laptop.
It has plenty of USB ports, both VGA and HDMI ports for hooking up to displays and TVs and has access to both the Windows Store and the thousands of standard Windows apps including iTunes and Office. What makes the E1 different from the cheaper Asus is that it packs a powerful Intel Core i5 processor that can more than handle multi-tasking. The E1 can handle a bit of light gaming too.
A 500GB hard drive provides room for photos and videos; the battery lasts about six hours on a single charge.
The E1 has a few downsides , including a low-resolution screen for its size, no touch screen and no CD/DVD drive, but the performance and battery life make it a great everyday laptop.
Apple’s MacBook Air is one of the best thin, light and powerful laptops available and a cut above most PC laptops, although it costs significantly more.
Combining lightweight, premium aluminium materials and a very solid build, plus reliability, the Air is built to be portable with a full-sized backlit keyboard. It also includes a powerful processor, fast solid-state storage and unrivalled all-day battery life. It powers on instantly and handles all but the most graphically intensive tasks without issue.
The 11in version is the most portable and lasts nine hours of useful work with a Thunderbolt port for connecting to a monitor, TV or for attaching other accessories like fast external hard drives. It also has two USB ports and a webcam for video chats.
The 13in version adds an SD slot and extends the battery life to 12 hours of use. Apple’s OS X software has plenty of apps and utilities available, including Microsoft Office, while Office-compatible apps, a movie editor and music editor come as standard out of the box.
The Apple MacBook Pro with Retina display is arguably the best full-sized laptop available, but costs significantly more than even the MacBook Air.
It is the most powerful laptop in this group, with enough processing power to handle video editing. Gamers will have to resort to running Windows on it, however, as the selection of games for Apple’s OS X is poor.
But what makes the MacBook Pro special is its screen, which is at least twice the resolution of most others. Instead of making icons and text tiny, Apple uses the added pixel density to increase the sharpness of the display, making text, photos and icons appear pin-sharp, much like smartphones and tablets.
The MacBook Pro with Retina display is available in a 13in or 15in screen size, both with two Thunderbolt ports, two USB ports and an HDMI out for connecting to a TV. The 13in has a nine-hour battery life, while the 15in lasts for eight hours.

Alienware revives the Area 51 desktop with a new look

Alienware revives the Area 51 desktop with a new look
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
Dell's Alienware gaming brand is reviving one of its classic desktop lines, with the new Area 51. While it shares a name with the big, boxy, desktop gaming systems of old, this version has an entirely new look and feel, and includes a just-announced high-end processor and chipset from Intel.
The system is built around Intel's new Haswell-E CPU, a late entry to the Haswell generation of CPUs designed to give that fourth-gen Core i-series technology a final boost for enthusiast PC gamers. Intel's Broadwell generation of Core i CPUs won't be around until next year, and the new Core M family is aimed squarely at tablets, hybrids, and ultrabooks, so for now, this is likely to be the marquee processor for gaming desktops. It comes paired with a new motherboard chipset, called X99, that promises to support DDR4 RAM.
The last time we saw the Area 51 line from Alienware was around 2010 with battery like dell Studio 1537 battery, dell Studio 1557 battery, dell KM958 battery, dell WU960 battery, dell TC030 battery, dell H9566 battery, dell Inspiron 1200 battery, dell UD260 battery, dell Vostro 1000 battery, dell Inspiron 1501 battery, dell RN897 battery, dell GP973 battery, and at the time it was an impressive, if dated, black rectangle, with red accent lights and creature-like fins protruding from the top. This new version has a unique three-sided design, which Alienware calls "triad." The flat corners of the triad shape allow you to rock the massive chassis back easily and access ports or doors with only one hand. You can also grip two of the handle-like points of the triangle to lift or move the system, which will weigh roughly 45 pounds.
Both side panels are removable, offering access to the motherboard, video card slots, and hard drive trays. The Area 51 supports up to three full-width GPUs (both Nvidia and AMD options will be available), up to five hard drives, and the system is designed to support a 1.5K watt power supply. Running hardware like that can generate a lot of heat, so Alienware says the angled design can allow you to push the chassis up against the wall while still allowing hot air to escape.
Like just about every Alienware laptop or desktop, there is an entire user-controlled light show built in, with nine separate zones, all controlled by the company's AlienFX software.
In our brief eyes-on time with the system, it at least looked different and more sculpted than other gaming desktops, although the traditional market for these systems has been at least partially eroded by better gaming laptops, next-gen living room gaming consoles, and new devices such as Alienware's own Alpha, a small form factor gaming desktop designed for living room use.

Dorm life/bachelor pad 101

Dorm life/bachelor pad 101
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
Going out on your own is never easy, whether it be as a freshman in your first dorm, or leaving your folks’ home for your first apartment. There are a number of consumer goods out there to make your life a bit easier.
We are supposed to spend eight hours a day getting sleep in order to be at our healthiest. Ikea and Crate & Barrel specialize in beds that are designed for close quarters. Some of their models have drawers under the mattress so that you can store clothing and other items. Castro Convertibles, a store name familiar to nearly every baby boomer, has relaunched with new ownership and is once again making couches that open up at night into beds.
Vera Bradley, the Indiana company best known for its handbags has quietly been increasing its product line over the past few years. The company has just started manufacturing comforter sets. Lands End also makes high quality and reasonably priced bedding.
It is hard to be at your best if you continually toss and turn with battery like Dell BATDW00L Battery, Dell 1X793 Battery, Dell BAT1194 Battery, Dell Precision M20 Battery, dell F5635 battery, dell YF976 battery, dell C5974 battery, dell U4873 battery, Dell Inspiron XPS M170 Battery, Dell Inspiron XPS M1710 Battery, dell 0483T battery, dell Inspiron 2100 battery. Pillo1 makes high-end foam pillows that relax your head, neck and shoulder muscles while helping you maintain your posture as you catch 40 winks.
The hardest adjustment for a lot of us is finding ways of keeping our new habitat clean. Bissell makes inexpensive durable vacuum cleaners that don’t require you to be an MIT grad in order to be able to remove debris. Bissell’s Spotbot gets out the toughest carpet stains while its Lift Off Floors is a lightweight upright that effortlessly picks up dust. Unger’s neatHOME line of dusters, scrubbers, and yes, squeegees are good for the cleaning jobs where you don’t have to plug in an appliance.
Both Ecos and Ecover make chemical-free cleaners for the kitchen and bathroom as well as “green” laundry detergents. Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Surface Wipes will also help keep your abode germ-free.
Keeping the air in your apartment clean is just as important as cleaning the surfaces of it. The Venta Airwasher is a compact humidifier that keeps the air in your room from getting dry and stale, thus making it easier to breathe, particularly in the winter when many apartments get too hot from radiator steam. Air fresheners such as the ones made by Yankee Candle and Little Trees are a good idea for your closets and obviously your bathroom.
Even the least handy of us has to occasionally drive a nail into the wall. Black & Decker’s well-named “Fat Max” oversized hammer makes it easier to hang a picture on a dense wall. Stanley also makes a full line of hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, and of course power tools.
Black & Decker also manufactures the George Foreman Indoor Grill, which claims to eliminate at least 40 percent of the fat in hamburgers. Hamilton Beach, a company best known for its blenders and popcorn makers, also makes a low-price-point indoor grill as well.
Opening cardboard boxes can be time-consuming and risky. Irwin Tools’ Folding Utility Knives are as safe a blade as you will find.
It is getting harder to find banks to offer safe deposit boxes to store one’s valuables. Sentry makes small safes that you can put in any closet.
With identity theft being rampant it is crucial not just to half-heartedly tear up documents that have account numbers, or even more problematic, your Social Security number on them. It’s imperative to have a durable shredder such as the ones manufactured by Fellowes, which you can find at Staples, or ones made by Royal that are sold at Radio Shack.
Just as Kleenex is synonymous with tissues themselves, and “Jell-o” is used by most people when they mean gelatin, so is Thermos identified with any bottle that can keep hot beverages hot and cold beverages cold for long periods of time. The company is expanding from liquids into solid foods as it’s now offering food jars that will keep lunch items at their desired temperatures even if you are away from an oven or refrigerator for a number of hours. The same can be said for Thermos’ longtime rival, Aladdin, which seems to match them product for product.
Microwave ovens are certainly great for frozen dinners and reheating pizza but if you enjoy cooking your own food then you should consider the Philips Airfryer, which was featured recently on Fox’s “Master Chef” program, starring Gordon Ramsay, is around the same size of most microwaves but allows you to grill, bake or fry foods from scratch in far less time than a conventional oven.
Tableware and utensils are easy to overlook until you want to have guests over. Stonewall Kitchen out of Maine (stonewallkitchen.com) is a terrific one-stop shop for plates, bowls, and glasses as well as for soaps and gift baskets.
Vitamins are important at any age and you can’t always get the ones you need from your daily diet. Quality of Life, Nature’s Bounty, New Chapter, Herbtheory and Nature Made all produce a wide array of vitamins from a daily multi to Vitamin C to CoQ10.
The cost of laptop computers has dropped dramatically over the last couple of years. Sony, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo and Acer all make durable computers that come loaded with popular software for under $600. H-P also makes several lines of ergonomically correct keyboards for under $50. Apple’s iPad has quickly become the biggest-selling device in portable computing but both Samsung and Motorola have launched their own tablet devices, which are less expensive than the Apple version. The Acer Aspire is a laptop that detaches so that it can be used as a tablet.
Now more than ever, it is crucial to protect your computer from viruses and spyware. Norton and Kaspersky both make premium software to stop even the most sophisticated of viruses, while Malware Malbytes prevents malicious tracking “cookies” from slowing your computer down. Even if no one was trying to harm your computer, just visiting the Internet and downloading programs and documents, can reduce the efficiency of your PC. System Mechanic 12 will keep your machine running quickly by reducing the needless clutter that accumulates in all computers.
Sitting by your desktop, and particularly your laptop, can cause back strain. Staples has many comfortable and ergonomically designed desk chairs.
Not having proper lighting will often lead to headaches and possible vision problems. Reliable’s Uberlight 9000 C Task Light does not take a lot of space on the desk, throws off a lot of light and rarely requires a bulb change. Philips also manufactures a wide array of desk lamps.
The iPad’s smaller sibling, the iPhone, has become one of the most popular cellular devices. The problem is that it is easy to drop and very costly to replace. Ribbz, Trident and Otter Box make snug rubber cases that should protect most devices. Lifeproof may do them one better by guaranteeing that its case will protect your smartphone even if you toss it in the water.
Tablets have become quite popular because of their portability as well as being far less cumbersome than laptops. Amazon’s Kindle Fire is a small tablet that came out a couple of years ago. It has a list price of under $200 and its latest version has a high definition screen. The Kindle allows you to easily surf the web and check your email. It does offer fewer apps than Apple’s iPad but that should change with time. If you are a bit of technophobe, the Kindle Fire is a great way to get you into the 21st century.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 and S5 Android smartphones are quickly rivaling Apple’s iPhone in terms of market share and are preferred by many who use PCs instead of Macs.
Taking your devices outside of your home or office frequently means that you are away from electric outlets. Battery packs from MyCharge significantly extend the time you can use your iPad, iPod, iPhone, tablet and Android a lot longer without having to worry about plugging them into a socket. When you are in your abode iHome has a number of docking stations that will charge your devices and some of them have alarm clocks and radios to boot. Duracell’s Powermat lets you charge a number of devices with one plug.
As much we take it for granted that we are living in a high-tech world, Hurricane Sandy reminded us that there is very much a place for old-school products such as Radio Shack pocket radios, VTech corded landline telephones, and of course, Eveready flashlights and lanterns.
The fall is traditionally the most popular time of the year for guys to spruce up their wardrobes.
Schuyler 4, American Eagle, Armani Exchange and Lands End all make great-looking shirts, pants and jackets that are ideal for socializing, business meetings and job interviews.
Levi’s have always been considered the Mercedes-Benz of jeans. Like a Benz, however, they have been far more expensive than their competitors. In response to the tough economy Levi Strauss has recently created a pair of budget lines called Denizen and Signature, which provide quality at affordable prices. The company has introduced a new line of denim trucker and commuter jackets.
Sears’ various private label lines, Carhatt, Outdoor Life and Structure, make a wide array of quality and stylish coats, jackets, shirts, and pants at prices that fit into practically every budget.
Ties have made a comeback in recent years but styles have changed from the neckwear that our dads wore to work. Ties.com is a clearinghouse for neckwear in all colors, designs, and widths.
Crocs is the Colorado-based shoe company that is best known for its ubiquitous beach clogs. Entering its second decade Crocs is expanding into everyday footwear and its suede moccasin is a comfortable and stylish shoe. Steve Madden, who has a factory and showroom in Long Island City, has been synonymous with women’s shoes but in the last few years has expanded into men’s dress shoes as well as messenger tote bags for guys. Potenza is a new shoe company whose footwear reminds you of Allen Edmonds but is sold at a third of the price because of low overhead and the fact that its leather comes from Poland instead of more expensive places as Italy.
You can’t think about shoes without thinking of socks. PACT socks have lively styles and are made from organic cotton.
Being well-groomed is important for both career and social purposes. Panasonic’s Arc 5 is an electric razor with five motorized cutters that will give you a comfortable barber-close shave. Norelco, which invented the Tripleheader, which quickly became the most popular electric razor on the market nearly 40 years ago, continues to refine it with the Series 9000. My only complaint is that Norelco is that the company should start making corded razors again instead of making one charge it ahead of time. With cellphones and tablets, we have enough devices that we have to charge and limited space and electric outlets to do it.
Moving away from where you’ve grown up is often the first time that you need to buy luggage. Transpack’s Butterfly Cargo and Ful’s Double Time are lightweight compact rolling suitcases. Both companies also have backpacks for toting books and laptops. If you need heavy-duty luggage, Briggs & Riley makes suitcases that will last several lifetimes. For weekend getaways, the Helly Hansen 50L Duffel Bag is highly recommended.
Go out and get “As” if you are a student or land that job or promotion if you are now in “the real world.”

MSI WS60 2OJ review

MSI WS60 2OJ review
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
MSI is best known for its motherboards, although it has also built up a significant range of consumer-oriented laptops over the last decade, particularly for the gaming market. But the company produces laptops for professional users as well. The WS60 is aimed at 3D content creation, and whilst not the first workstation MSI has produced, it's the first that isn't based on one of the company's gaming systems. It's a somewhat unusual design as mobile workstations go, too.
Generally, a portable workstation is at the top-end of the desktop replacement genre. However, although the WS60 is a 15in laptop, it only weighs 1.9kg. Best of all, it's just 19.9mm thick, which is bordering on Ultrabook territory. In other words, this is one of the most portable mobile workstations around.
The chassis is a relatively sober black, and the "workstation" logo on the lid was perhaps an unnecessary indication of the WS60's intended use. The 15.6in screen has a full HD resolution, which is about the sweet spot for this size. Some vendors are now offering much higher resolutions with battery like Dell Vostro 1720 Battery, Dell Vostro 1710 Battery, Dell 312-0740 Battery, Dell 312-0894 Battery, Dell 451-10612 Battery, Dell T117C Battery, Dell T118C Battery, Dell P721C Battery, Dell P726C Battery, Dell CMP3D Battery, Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 Battery, such as Dell's Precision M3800 – but this can cause problems with software not designed for this pixel density. So the WS60's screen is about right for now. Its matt finish and good levels of brightness and detail mean it's very pleasant to use, and viewing angles are wide, with no distraction from unwanted reflections.
MSI has taken full advantage of the width of the 15in chassis, providing a separate numeric keypad alongside the chiclet-style keyboard. The stylised text on the keys is perhaps overly telling of MSI's usual gamer focus, but the keyboard action is responsive, giving a pleasant typing experience. The large trackpad has its buttons integrated, with no indication of where the clicking area is, but in practice this isn't a problem. It's placed sensibly to the left beneath the spacebar, and is accurate and responsive.
The WS60 is based around an Intel Core i7-4710HQ, which is a quad-core CPU from the fourth Haswell generation. This runs at a nominal 2.5GHz, but as usual Intel Turbo Boost is on hand to enhance the frequency in the right circumstances, with a single core able to hit 3.5GHz. By raising the power from 47W to 55W, the clock speed of the whole processor can rise to 3.3GHz.
So there's plenty of potency here, and Hyper-Threading also means the four physical cores are presented as eight virtual ones, for a boost to parallel processing tasks such as rendering. The Core i7 has been partnered by a healthy 16GB of 1,600MHz DDR3L SDRAM, which is the maximum the system supports, but will be a decent amount for the intended purpose for a few years to come.
However, the component that fully lifts the WS60 into workstation territory is the Nvidia Quadro graphics. The Quadro K2100 is from the latest generation of Kepler-based Nvidia GPUs, and sports 576 CUDA cores alongside 2GB of GDDR5 memory. This is a mid-range member of the current Quadro line-up, but significantly ahead of the high-end desktop Quadro 5000 of just a few years ago, for example. There is also integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600, which automatically takes over when there is little 3D acceleration required, thanks to Nvidia's Optimus technology.

6 Tips for Replacing Your Windows Laptop With a Surface Pro 3

6 Tips for Replacing Your Windows Laptop With a Surface Pro 3
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
It's no secret that Microsoft's Windows 8 launch marks the start of a hybrid device strategy. Though the initial batches of Windows 8 hybrid devices were far from successful, the push by Microsoft to meld touch with traditional computing is starting to look better with the release of the latest generation of such devices, led its own Surface Pro 3.
If you're eyeing the Surface Pro 3 or a hybrid Windows device as a replacement for your "boring" laptop, here are some tips to make a smooth transition to a tablet experience.
Make the Windows Tablet Switch Quickly
The familiarity of the Windows platform means that a transition to the new Windows tablet can happen once the apps are installed and pertinent files copied onto the new device. It may be a good idea to establish an online cloud storage account to keep files in sync, too, should there be plans to continue using an existing Windows laptop together with the tablet. (You can read more about this in the tutorial on working seamlessly across multiple devices.)
Rather than spend a week (or two) making endless tweaks to your new tablet with battery such as dell 3117J battery, Dell 8K1VG Battery, Dell Alienware M11x Battery, Dell Alienware M14x Battery, Dell PT6V8 Battery, Dell R7PND Battery, Dell PG6RC Battery, Dell Precision M4400 Battery, Dell Precision M4600 Battery, Dell Latitude E5420 Battery, Dell Latitude E5220 Battery, Dell Latitude E6420 Battery, the fastest way to make the switch is to dive straight in. Be sensible, though: Avoid making the switch on the eve of an important deadline or just before an overseas work trip.
Bring your tablet to the office and spend no more than hour installing the needed apps. For most workers, this would probably include one's preferred Web browser, office productivity apps, email client and a couple of utility apps. Copy work files using a USB flash drive. You can download additional applications as necessary; those that don't get installed within the first few days probably aren't as important as you think.
Finally, it bears remembering that, while most apps will install and run fine on a Windows tablet, some aren't good candidates for use on tablet devices due to their heavy processor utilization.
One of the very first things to do on your Windows tablet is set up BitLocker full disk encryption, as it's not enabled by default. This is crucial when you consider the increased portability of a tablet, which means that it has a greater chance of being stolen or misplaced than a laptop.
The difficulty of repairing the new generation of ultra-slim tablets also necessitates the enabling of encryption, as a damaged device is likely to be replaced with a new or refurbished unit and not fixed. Since BitLocker can't be configured when your screen is broken or your device won't boot, be sure to enable it from the get-go to avoid putting your data at risk.

Processors And Battery Life Explained

Processors And Battery Life Explained
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
Although they are often advertised as an integral part of your new laptop, not all processors are made equal. An older Intel Core i7 may be slightly less powerful than a newer Core i5. Broadly speaking, within any generation of laptops, you can start from the ground floor with the Core i3, move up to the mainstream with the Core i5, and then get some serious power with the Core i7. And, of course, within each i-number, there are different processors — the Core i5-4200U is less powerful than the i5-4310U, which is less powerful than the i5-4340M, and so on.
You don’t need the most powerful option, of course, and having a more powerful processor can negatively affect your battery life, so choosing a laptop with the right processor is more important than you might think. Both Intel and competitor AMD create processors specifically designed for laptops — Intel has the Core series, and AMD has A6, A8 and A10 ‘APUs’ that combine high-powered processing and graphics in one. For a demonstration of the difference, though, we’re focusing on Intel.
There’s a bit of a dark art to telling the difference between Intel’s processor numbers — in laptops for example, you’ll see a Core i7 processor brand followed by four numbers. The first of those numbers is the generation identifier, and you should always go for the highest one you can find. At the moment, mobile processors are on the 4th generation, so keep your eye out for Core iX 4XXX products.
Beyond that, you can pick out special processors from the lineup with a single letter after those four numbers — U for a low power CPU, Y for an ultra-low power CPU, and so on. As a general rule, with a U you’re sacrificing some outright power for longer battery with like dell Latitude E5520 battery, Dell Latitude E6520 Battery, Dell 312-1163 Battery, Dell KJ321 Battery, Dell FRROG Battery, Dell Inspiron 1320 Battery, Dell Inspiron M301 Battery, Dell Inspiron 13Z Battery, Dell R893R Battery, Dell D034T Battery, Dell Inspiron 1410 Battery, Dell Vostro 1015 Battery life, and with a Y that is doubly true. You can find a cheat sheet from Intel right here.
That’s a top-level overview, and for the most part that’s all you need to know. At least within Intel’s processor types, you can scale the i-number and the four digits and the letter to your needs — go with a lower powered Core i3 if you are just browsing the web and sending emails, a Core i5 if you want it to handle an occasional bout of photo editing, and a Core i7 for all-out video editing or serious productivity work.
There’s a technical difference between i3, i5 and i7, of course, with the higher-powered processors boasting more physical processor cores (each of which can be devoted to one computer task at a time, basically) and higher clock speeds (letting them complete those tasks faster). The four-digit-and-one-letter system is just a quick and easy way to slim down the list of devices for you to choose from.
Battery Life: You Always Want The Best, How Do You Get It?
There’s nothing more annoying than working away busily on a flight or at a long lunch and having your laptop run out of power at a crucial moment. Having a laptop with a small battery is entirely reasonable if you’re not heading away from your desk or from your power point often, but if you’re buying a convertible or a tablet or another device designed to be used on the move, it’s only rational to want something that will perform for as long as possible.
When you’re unplugged from a power point and working away, the power consumption of your laptop’s processor is intrinsically tied to how long its battery will last. A gusty Core i7 will suck up precious juice far quicker than a delicate Y-series Core i3. This is an important point to consider when you’re picking a new portable PC to buy; you can buy something built for speed or something built for longevity.
Plenty of other factors like screen resolution and storage capacity and type contribute to a laptop’s power consumption, too. And of course, Windows or any other operating system will do its best to moderate power and performance and battery life and hit a good compromise, but the fact remains that some laptops use more power than others. Reading around, doing your research and choosing carefully can save you from the constant stress and headache of running out of battery when you’re on the go.
Manufacturer’s claims on battery life are a good place to start, but there’s no substitute for looking at specifications. All other things being equal, you want the larger battery of any two — more cells, more Watt-hours, more milliamp-hours, or whichever unit of measurement that particular manufacturer uses in its documentation.
Of course, everything has to be moderated against the other specifications of your new laptop. It’s not reasonable to expect day-long battery life from an 11-inch ultraportable that also packs in a high-powered Core i7, or to expect hours of movie-watching from a 13-inch laptop with a super-bright and super-high-resolution display.
And, again, the size of your laptop plays a huge role in how long its battery will last when you’re using it on the go. A super-thin laptop simply can’t hide away a massive battery pack, no matter how efficient its processor and display and storage are. Some manufacturers, especially those that integrate batteries into the shells of their laptops to use as much space as possible, can get amazing longevity from thin and light devices, but as a general rule the larger your laptop is the longer it will last.

Dell Latitude 14 Rugged

Dell Latitude 14 Rugged
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
On September 4, 2014, Dell introduced the Latitude 14 Rugged. It is a semi-rugged notebook computer and the successor of the Dell Latitude 6430 ATG (see here), which was a fortified and toughened-up version of Dell's consumer and enterprise line of Latitude E6430 computers, and a very good one at that. What did Dell as a follow-up, and how did they go about it?
First, let's recap where the new Latitude 14 Rugged fits in. For several years Dell was offering "ATG" ("All Terrain Grade") semi-rugged and "XFR" (Xtreme Fully Rugged") rugged notebooks. The XFR models were originally made for Dell by Augmentix, which later became part of Dell. In early 2014, Dell replaced the XFR with the Latitude 12 Rugged Extreme convertible and the Latitude 14 Rugged Extreme laptop. The new Latitude 14 Rugged replaces the ATG. So going forward, Dell offers semi-rugged "Latitude Rugged" and fully-rugged "Latitude Rugged Extreme" models.
One point Dell emphasizes is that whereas the predecessor ATG models were built "up" from standard Latitude commercial versions, the new 14 Rugged is built "down" from the Rugged Extreme line. An informally given analogy by a Dell rep was that the new 14 Rugged is like a SUV built on a truck platform whereas the ATGs were SUVs built on car platforms. And, indeed, the new all-black Rugged 14 with its hefty carry handle looks considerably tougher and more businesslike than the old ATG. That said, we really liked the ATG 6430 we did a full review on in August 2013 (see here). So what is the Dell Latitude 14 Rugged, and what does it do better?
It is a Dell laptop that's substantially tougher and more durable than a standard Latitude. It measures 13.7 x 9.6 inches, is 1.73 inches thick, and weighs 6.6 pounds. That's a good bit more than a civilian Latitude E6440's 4.7 pounds, but actually a bit less than our last test E6430 ATG. Right off the bat, one thing that's changed for the better is the new handle. It's sturdier and much better integrated. Another is the battery wth like dell Vostro A860 battery, Dell Vostro 1088 Battery, Dell R988H Battery, Dell 312-0818 Battery, Dell Inspiron 1470 Battery, Dell Inspiron 1570 Battery, Dell Inspiron 14Z Battery, Dell Inspiron 15Z Battery, Dell 312-1008 Battery, Dell Latitude Z Battery, Dell Latitude Z600 Battery, Dell D839N Battery. We did not much care for the ATG's netbook-style battery that slid into the back of the machine. In the new 14 Rugged, the battery glides into the side of the computer, as it should. We weren't crazy about the ATG's wimpy protective doors for the ports, and that, too, has changed for the better. The 14 Rugged has much beefier doors.
On the processor side, the Latitude 14 Rugged is now based on ultra-low voltage versions of Intel's "Haswell" 4th generation Core processors, with maximum thermal design power of 15 watts as compared to the 35 and even 45 watt TDP 3rd gen Core chips of the predecessor ATG's processors. At the same time, the standard battery's capacity was raised from 60 watt-hours to 65 watt-hours and there's still the optional 97 watt-hour battery. Dell claims up to 14 hours run-time with the extended battery. Given that even the ATG we tested was exceptionally power-efficient, the claim seems reasonable.

Dell Latitude 3340 review

Dell Latitude 3340 review
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
The Dell Latitude 3340 is a laptop targeted towards students and its impressive 9h 40m battery makes it a decent proposition for using all day when out-and-about on campus. However, it’ll also serve well as a work laptop for any task, thanks to its long battery life.
The phenomenal battery life is thanks to a large six-cell battery pack, which is rather thick and means that the rear of the laptop has a sizeable bump in it. This does have the positive side effect of angling the keyboard towards you, creating a comfortable typing angle.
The keyboard itself is very pleasant to use as well. Dell hasn’t tried to shoehorn in a numeric keypad, so all of the Chiclet-style keys are comfortably spaced with pronounced gaps between keys meaning we rarely mistyped. We would say the keys were slightly too spongy for our tastes, with a fraction too much travel, but it never hindered comfort and we could easily type a long document or dissertation without an issue. The only other minor annoyance was the skinny Enter key that was occasionally missed.
The keyboard is located within a recess in the 3340’s with battery such as dell Inspiron Mini 10 battery, Dell PP19S Battery, Dell Latitude E4200 Battery, Dell R640C Battery, Dell Latitude V710 Battery, Dell Inspiron 11Z Battery, dell Latitude E6400 battery, Dell Latitude E6500 Battery, Dell Precision M2400 Battery, Dell Precision M6500 Battery, Dell Latitude D630 Battery, Dell Precision M2300 Battery base and is also surrounded by a rubberised trim. The keyboard is splash resistant, so you shouldn’t have to worry about accidental spills, which should bring some peace of mind for the clumsy. We tested this by pouring a reasonable amount of water across the keyboard and were pleased to see it survived without any issues. This is something we wouldn’t recommend intentionally putting to the test, however.
There’s a pleasingly spacious touchpad for a 13.3in laptop and it’s as big as we’ve seen on some larger models. It is also spill resistant to match the keyboard. The material is suitably smooth enough to glide your fingers across without any problems but we found the dedicated mouse buttons rather spongy without a pronounced click to them. We imagine this is likely caused by the built-in spill resistance. We had no problems with clicks being registered and the buttons otherwise performed well.
For any fashion-inclined, the Latitude 3340 isn’t exactly the most stylish laptop we’ve ever seen, so you probably won’t catch anyone’s eye. It comes in a rather bland matt grey plastic with a rubberised trim around the edges. These are designed to offer some degree of shock absorption in case of drops, which is useful if you intend on carrying the laptop around all day.
The Latitude 3340 is powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Core i5-4200U with a base clock speed of 1.6GHz but this processor can also boost to 2.6GHz under the right thermal conditions for a performance increase. This is paired with 4GB of RAM and there’s a second memory slot available if you want to upgrade towards the maximum supported 16GB.
In our application benchmarks, it managed an overall score of 45, which is about what we would expect for this processor. It’s a respectable score for the cost of the laptop and means the Latitude 3340 shouldn’t have any problems running most applications for work or school. We never encountered any problems with Windows 8.1 feeling sluggish.
Performance is partially helped by the 500GB hybrid SSD, which uses a mechanical disk to provide plenty of storage and a small SSD cache to boost performance of commonly used apps and regularly accessed files. In use, the laptop proved to open applications snappily, while it would boot and shut down quickly.
While this is a laptop geared towards working, you’ll get by with some very light gaming from the integrated graphics. In our Dirt Showdown tests we only managed 18.2fps at 1,280x720 resolution, 4x anti-aliasing and High graphics, which is too slow for a smooth experience.
The display’s hinge can be tilted all the way back so that it lies flat, supposedly to aid collaboration. In reality, the display’s viewing angles make this completely pointless as it’s simply not viewable when titled 180 degrees unless you lean directly over the screen.
The 13.3in display with a 1,366x768 resolution was one of the worst aspects of the Latitude 3340. In our calibration tests black levels were recorded at just 1.13cd/m2, which is below what we would expect at this price range and shows the display is incapable of showing deep blacks. Contrast ratio didn’t fare any better at a disappointing 233:1, and the anti-glare matte coating for the screen didn't help.
Glossy screens often have the better contrast although this is at the expense of a more reflective surface that can be problematic but we found the anti-glare coating made the display appear grainy. At least the 3340’s coverage of the sRGB colour gamut was about average at 58.8 per cent.
The Latitude 3340 didn’t perform well in our subjective tests, either. In our test images that included people, shadow details in hair just became a solid mass of colour with all of the detail lost. Blacks also didn’t appear as solid black and more of a deep grey, which was disappointing. Viewing angles both side-to-side and top-down were also poor with the display taking on a slightly red colour cast.
If you’re looking for a laptop with all-day battery life predominantly to be used for work, the Latitude 3340 is a more than competent choice. It’s slightly let down by its poor screen, which is a real shame but if your work doesn’t require accurate colours you’ll be able to get by. If you want better performance, and don’t mind sacrificing some battery life, the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is a better choice.
